3D was a mistake. This game looks like ass. Probably why we still haven't gotten a new trailer, nothing looks good in the game.

Its the fucking texture and models mismatcy what makes it worse. Look at the pokemon and the characters and the rock hill texture, compare it with the grass, the ground and the trees. Why there is things that look half way decent but others look like assets from an unreleased gamecube game?

I wish people could stop pretending this has anything to do with 2D or 3D. Pokken and New Snap are 3D games and they look good by Switch standards.
Mainline sucks because it's handled by mediocre companies like Game Freak and ILCA. And to make matters worse, they are burdened by TPC's unreasonable deadlines meant to keep the anime and merchandise afloat.

The """open world""" cope is exactly that, an excuse that doesn't hold up when comparing it to any other videogame.
Neither SwSh, PLA or SV live up to the standards set by proper open world games like BotW, Xenoblade or Witcher 3 in any way. Every Pokemon games that tries to imitate them is lacking in the amount of interactive elements, animation, model and texture quality, performance and overall creativity.
Stop defending bad games and maybe you'll favorite franchise will eventually put out videogames that live up to modern gaming standards.

Have you checked the screenshots in the eshop in their native resolution? Because we're apparently looking at entirely different games. SV is probably one of the best looking games in the switch (with cel shading artstyle ofc), the story and gameplay may be garbage but that's a different story.

The problem is and will always be GF being incompetent hacks and retards.
You have tons of franchises out there like Atelier who pump out games on a yearly schedule and they all have a very pleasant anime-ish artstyle.
GF's obsession with "realistic graphics" when they're massively incompetent devs who will never be able to pull them off and "realistic graphics" being completely and absolutely ill fitting for a franchise such as Pokemon will never cease to amaze me. Except a majority of them are reused assets. Also Pokemon has very specific teams who develop specific pieces of the game (which is the norm for development) and the people who develop the map and world graphics are not the same as the battle team or the monster team.

Just because a game looks better doesn't mean SM and XY didn't look good. Nothing looks as good as revelations. Capcom are wizards. I don't know you fags can't grasp that concept. Does the autism not allow shades of grey? The models in those games were also high quality to the point that were seeing the same models used on the Switch without them looking dated. Also LGPE looked pretty good.
