Why take over an entire company and city forcibly instead of just stealing the master ball? What is Giovanni even doing between the time when you beat him at the Rocket Hideout to when you beat him at Silph Co?
Why steal the Dig TM instead of just...walking into the cave? There's only one guy guarding it.
Why kidnap Fuji? What were the rocket grunts even doing with him?
And the biggest thing, is why Giovanni just arbitrarily gives up after losing to Red, sure Red is a small child but said child also then goes onto become the most powerful trainer in the region 10 minutes after beating Giovanni. And if Giovanni wanted Mewtwo, why even bother with Red at all? Okay, you lost to a superstrong child, you're still a super rich mafioso who can just go...catch Mewtwo at that point, it's not like the police even seem to care about stopping you.
The Mewtwo thing is fanfiction anyway, but it's stupid regardless.
It's also hilarious that Giovanni and Team Rocket despite being the super badass mafia people always paint them to be not once are ever particularly violent or underhanded towards the player. Even fucking Magma pulls a more underhanded move by trying to gang up on you at the Mossdeep Space Center. Rocket is massively incompetent and only works because the setting is apparently filled with retards like Sabrina who doesn't do shit about the rocket that's literally blocking the front of her gym, or police that can't catch a thief despite the fact he's standing right behind the house he just robbed.
