SM saw Masuda heavily guiding Ohmori as a producer and mentor figure. SwSh saw him as an active producer whose input had to be taken into consideration. Also LGPE was his game. We see a lot of his design philosophies in those titles. He was also active in the production of BDSP. PLA and SV are the first titles he was hands off and it really shows.
I think MASUDA BAD is somewhat stupid since he isn't the only one making these games but he is a very conservative developer and one that prides himself on not taking risks or doing things he thinks might become unpopular. He makes himself look bad in all of his interviews for this reason. His non-involvement with SV and future titles will make a huge impact in what they do.
