I really, really hope that the way mythicals are handled in PLA is indicative of how things are going to be done in the future. Obviously event distributions are never going away, but as long as every pokémon is available in-game that's fine. I don't even care if they're shiny locked.

The problems with the GTS weren't around when the 3DS was relevant. I'm pretty sure I remember using the gen 7 GTS occasionally even after SWSH released, so this started no later than 2020.

I did make several trades on the GTS in Y last week and apart from getting two shamelessly hacked level 100 shinies, both from the same guy, I haven't had any trouble. Certainly I haven't had my game crashed.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I've seen a lot of hacked shinies up for trade in exchange for impossible things, like stuff with a gender of "Back," but none of it crashed my game just by looking at it.
