>>51012481I felt wounded by the fact that some new GBA Pokemon showed up out of nowhere for the sole purpose of upstaging a classic. Blaziken was very much the "new kid on the block". And the worst part? It went on to become a classic Pokemon itself. It had great stats in Gen 3, outperformed Infernape and Emboar during Gen 5 (thanks to Speed Boost), and received Mega Evolution in Gen 6.
Make no mistake. This scene might have been the best way to introduce a new starter Pokemon. Like watching some new sports athlete rising through the ranks out of the blue.
