What is this even supposed to mean, that Gen 3 had some cute designs? Gen 1 had cute designs too, that wasn't the problem people had with Gen 2's additions to the roster. The problem was that most of the Pokemon were designed to be cutesy. I've seen this image floating around on /vp/ for a while now and it at least shows that the general interpretation from the fanbase aligns with what was said in the video: simple and cute faces, round and cute features.

This. Giving baby mons to Pokémon that were already small and cute was the most backwards retarded decision made in Gen 2. Instead of Cleffa and Igglybuff (by far the worst 2 offenders), they could’ve used any of the following:

Looking at the entire pokedex I agree with the cloth thing and the use of black, but I think yellow is way more present than white in the designs, in general warm colors are common in unova
