Is it any wonder, really? The Origin was the best "dub" they've had in 15 years with the franchise, way back in the mid 2010s, and still just a Gen 1 panderfest with Gen 7 advertising in the last episode.

This franchise's best work is always the games for over a decade now, don't bother wasting your time in animated form: its heyday has long since past it by.

Solely because of the Ashime, people were so happy to see something different with no characters from that universe too, is why Origins was well received at first.

Over time, its flaws have been exposed.

Generations will age even worse, bunch of random shorts from the first 6 Gens, and edgelord voice acting with fanservicy characters is all it is. A plot just as weak as the Ashime overall, all over the place, it'd have had actual potential if it was more than 3 scattershot eps and there wasn't such over the top hammy voice acting.

Like what the hell is this shit? How can people defend this? Generations Archie is a bigger idiot than any character in any Pokemon animated media, legit makes Origins Giovanni seem smart:

Kiawe's Charizard is his dead grandfather's. Turtonator is his starter and ace with Charizard almost always just being transport and usually being overshadowed by Tutornator and Marowak. Venusaur and Empoleon are treated with a similar level of respect as members of the final boss's team.

Grew up with it, was in fact nostalgic for it (even got the WoTC- Wizards of the Coast Holofoil card ages ago), Charizard has worn out its welcome regardless. Leon having one as the weakest one in his team was the final straw for me.

You won't see me defending the Ashime post-Gen 4 in general, though, or the dub post-Gen 3 (never TPCI's version, Sarah's Ash still can't match Taylor after almost double the time on the show, James still sounds godawful, the dub score is laughable, etc.).

Ignoring this isn't the worst thing SWSH had on offer it's fair. I get disliking the thing being shilled, but as this has been a topic for years even the anti-charizard shit is just as tiresome to me as the shilling. There was a thread years back and an anon just spilled his spaghetti that he only hates Charizard because his bullies liked it. How pathetic do you have to be to just post that on an imageboard and expect to be agreed with lmao.

Bulbasaur get near the top in almost every poll but TPC always ignore outside some random merch shit.
Pokemon Origins pretended that Bulbasaur doesn't exist, they animated the entire Kanto dex except Bulbasaur line.

They made a Pokemon Park in Japan few years ago with Kanto and Galar starters but Bulbasaur was excluded.

They really don't want any pokemon to be popular except Charizard and that dog fursona

This whole starter shitting only started (heh) because upon seeing that the Charmander line was incompetent compared to the other starters back in RBY, Charmanderfags wouldn't seetle with just having the most popular and cooler starter, no, picking chamander should also be the best and true way to experience RBY, which is why they created the hard mode cope to validate their choice of not being able to one shot Brock without overleveling.
And like most 90s kids, they would ""bully"" anyone they didn't like and since Squirtle was also popular people would aim towards bulbasaur instead, and that habit didn't die until late 2010s (i'm being generous), now most bulbasaurfags are spiteful that think they should get back at those who "wronged" them.
Funny enough, since squirtle was always the silver medal/middle child, Blastoisefags ended up becoming pretty chill like that anon said.

That doesn't even make sense, Onix has ridiculously shitty sp def and no rock moves, so Charmander can take it down with Ember just fine.
