In bongland, we got them in packs of crisps (chips for burgers) when Johto was big. My mum would get really mad at me because she'd buy a 12 pack of crisps and I'd open them all for the Tazos and not eat any of the food. Got Ampharos, Tyranitar, Lugia and Raikou in a single raid.

I'm not at my parent's home, so I don't have anything on hand, but a good anecdote I always tell is that the argentine album for GS was released before Celebi's reveal in the west so because they had no artwork they used the GS "leaked" sprite(those drawn badly based on the GB screen that were floating around at the time) painted green.

As it was the first time I've seen Celebi in any capacity(and i don't watch the show), it took me years to start thinking about Celebi's actual design instead of this monstrosity.
Pic related is for ants but I couldn't find any better.

Seeing these tazos brings back so many memories. I was an American living in Angola at the time as an expat. I never learned Portuguese, but all the shit was the same for us there, just more bullet holes, Africans, and amputees everywhere. So fucking kino. God I miss the 90s.

Even as someone who did grow up with tazos i find it weird how something as simple can evoke so many positivity for people who grew up with them as if they were the best thing ever and they just were round things with a pic slapped on it.

Not saying its wrong, I also like them but its funny how we all colectively adore something as menial.
