It seems like there's a mishmash of themes and not every Pokemon who falls into those themes is fairy-type.
Is it cuteness? Pikachu and pretty much every Pikaclone/babymon are cute and most of them aren't fairy-types.
Is it femininity? Bellossom and Lopunny are feminine and they're not fairy-type.
Is it being pink? Mew and Blissey are pink and they're not fairy-type.
Is it magic? Alakazam and Delphox are magic-themed and they're not fairy-type.
Is it nature? That's already covered by grass, and most grass-types aren't also fairy-types.
Is it the moon? Lunala is the embodiment of the moon and it's not a fairy-type.
Is it sweets? Vanilluxe is an ice cream cone and it's not fairy-type.
Is it folklore? Literal hundreds of Pokemon have grounding in folklore and they're not fairy-type.
Fairy-type is literally just whatever GF needs it to be at the time.
