CoroCoro only had news because back then the games were released in Japan many months earlier. Gen 6 had simultaneous worldwide news but was still beaten by shitty magazine pic leaks, so it's obvious why they didn't want that to happen anymore.

Corocoro still has news, it's just news that's already been revealed in worldwide official trailers and website updates. Having a Japan-only magazine be the first to reveal updates about a game that's getting a worldwide release is very counterproductive

It came to a head with Gen 7 and EVERY video reveal scheduled to launch the day of Coro's new issue being leaked by Coro as shops broke street date up to a week early. After that, Coro got bumped to the back of the queue with Pokénchi/whatever the new shit is taking Coro's place as "kid friendly news provider".
