Now all Pokemon can evolve EITHER by a high level or by a convoluted methed which allows you to get their evolutions earlier but all their stats will be 25% weaker until they surpass thier evolution level.

Obviously it would be difficult and unreasonable to come up with one of these for every pokemon so they'd never do it, but this would be very fucking cool

Pointlessly complicated. Why punish players for going out of their way to get evos early? The mechanic of evos learning level up moves later is fine as is. This is a cool idea but the evolution levels are way too fucking high and the methods are so convoluted that no one will figure them out naturally. PLA tried more obscure evolution methods and they were annoying and tedious

I've often thought about things like these, but I think one of the main bugbears I have with modern weird evolution methods is that that shit is usually never mentioned in the game itself. I think maybe a stripped-down Arceus-style dex where you interact with a certain mon enough and it gives hints as to evolution methods, or even just NPCs and in-game books telling you is very necessary already, but would be the only way something like this could be rolled out en masse.

The obvious solution is, why not have NPCs tell you? Or have them tell you for completing a sidequest?
It gives good incentive to talking to NPCs and allows the player to find out the info for themselves instead of having to reference a guide or walkthrough.

I really like the idea of creative evolutions and hope they do more in the future, but let's be real, this entire chart was made by losers who can't stand the concept of trade evolutions.
Yeah, it's the hardest evolution a lot of the time, but that what makes them so great and special. I went out of my way to get an epic pokemon you can't get elsewhere. Gen 8 fucking ruined it by making them found in the wild.

Link Cable as an evo item has existed since PMD and was reused in PLA. Really though, trade evos in general should have alternatives since the actual lore behind them is that trading unintentionally exposes them to energy that just happens to replicate the natural evolutionary trigger for them.

Probably the only pokemon that would be made better by having a trade evolution is pawniard.
Male pawniard lv 40 => evolves into king version of evolution
Female pawniard trade holding kings rock => evolves into queen version of evolution
pawniard trade holding hard stone => rook version
pawniard trade holding ??? => bishop and knight version

I've always felt like they should apply the same rules that stone evolutions have, of missing out on certain moves if you evolve too early.
