The English pronunciation is a retcon.

It's a Latin etymology you retard, so it uses the Latin pronunciation rules for the words it's taking its name from. It's a portmanteau made from Arc or Arcesso and Deus in the form of the word Archeus. Japan's just consistently inconsistent when it comes to using katakana to make foreign words with proper phonetics.
