I'm completely overdosing on copium for Diantha vs Leon.
The title HAS to be like that so as to mislead people. The episode title. The title is just WAY too blatant and on the nose. It's too disrespectful too. Despite how low my opinion of PM is I really don't want to believe that they'd play something like that completely straightforwardly.
No one expected anything out of Diantha going into this tourney. Not even the five actual Dianthafags in the entire board. Before the match-ups were revealed everyone was dismissing her as a filler match, a free slot, for whoever who fought her to make it to the second round for their REAL important match. And then when the match-ups got revealed despite "logic" telling us that "she would win" because Lance fighting Leon would be completely pointless many people thought she was gonna lose anyway.
Absolutely no one expected anything out of Diantha for this tournament, and she somehow pulled through, and despite how crappy animation-wise her fight was. practically everyone and their mom praises the battle for the strategic showings during it.
She's gonna do it again. She will surpass all expectations again. I have faith on it.
Everyone is expecting Leon to completely crush her but she'll instead be the first person in the series to truly make him bleed and put the fear of defeat on his head. The first time Leon will actually have to take the fight seriously instead of focusing on "entertaining the audience".
Call me delusional, I don't care. Maybe I am. I already said I'm overdosing on copium. But this is my belief.
