The only problems I have with XY are that it's too easy and it has the worst story in a series known for bad stories. Also sky battles butchering hundreds of pokemon's battle animations.
It has great graphics, a great regional dex, and is fun

That's been an issue since gen 1 as well. Bdsp should have been a reminder of what a shitshow sinnoh was until platinum came along but I guess it just didn't register

Cyrus makes about the same amount of sense as Lysandre in dp and bdsp. Platinum made him a lot better. Neither of them is particularly good but at least xy had proper lore behind the ultimate weapon with the whole war and AZ stuff. Dp just tells you that there's some pokemon that controls time/space and if you catch these little fairies then you can change the world. Team galactic came first but that's the only thing they have, otherwise they aren't any better than team flare

It means the game got casualized over the base game.

Casualization is stuff like the rival picking the starter weaker to you.
Casualization is stuff like the rival no longer ambushing you out of nowhere for a fight, but rather healing your party first and asking you to fight.

Expand on the formula. Imagine if those five different zones in PLA were connected to different towns and landmarks, with stuff like caves to explore. Being able to fly on any pokemon that can fly instead of one specific pokemon, with more trainers to battle. It doesn't necessarily have to follow the mainline formula of 8 badges and an E4, but just something even more adventurous than before is possible.

BW2 has drastically more forced dialogue shit than any other game outside of gen 7. Like I'm not even sure if gen 8 has more because at least in gen 8 every tutorial is skippable. XY's cutscene density is about on par with gen 4.

It wasn't NG+ content. It's way, way stupider. If you try to restart after unlocking challenge mode you just fully reset your save, keys included. If you wanted to play challenge mode from the very beginning you had to get someone with a cleared copy of black 2 to infrared it to you.

I think BW1 just does a better job at creating dramatic tension. You fight and argue with Team Plasma over the course of the story, and it leads up to a big conclusion at N's Castle. The structure was different from the usual Pokemon League story.

XY is a simple romp where nothing heavy happens until the last part of the game. They put a-lot of backstory into Kalos, but you aren't asked to actively pay attention to it. This is [probably] why people forget about details. Unless they're inquisitive enough to talk to literally everyone, visit the museums, and do all the side things that teach you about the game's culture.

BW2 though, have no idea why its considered the best. The story is basically like every other gen, because Team Plasma are just openly criminal.

You can theoretically destroy the world without causing suffering if it's done fast and painlessly enough, and then the new world if made correctly would lack it. There's suffering but it's in the old world, not the new one. You definitely can't make a new world without corruption and greed by filling the survivor's boat with the greediest most corrupt bastards you can find. Neither of them are great but one is absolutely more consistent.

It would've made more sense if Lysandre revealed that he had been planning to destroy Team Flare along with the rest of the world and was sending invitations to people like Sycamore, Diantha, and the player to hide in his bunker with him.
