im also listening to the hgss versions and you can just feel the entire hgss summed up:
- respect to the original versions
- but improving them in a way that doesn't overshadow the originals but provides an updated and refreshing experience
- adding more than needed, making the experience as full and enjoyful as possible

i like this one because i used to spend a lot of time in the lake of rage area as a kid. it was my favourite spot in johto for some reason. maybe the atmosphere, maybe the music, probably a mix of everything idk

we have a lot of areas in the uk that look like the lake of rage due to it bring very humid here and rainy and we have a lot of corniferous trees lkke the ones used in the gsc johto tileset, so it just really made me feel at home
