And you're just flat-out wrong about Magmar. The only anti-rock move it has is Submission, which Charizard also gets. They have the same special and Magmar only has slightly higher physical attack, but still winds up doing less damage because Earthquake is so much stronger than Submission and Slash has such a high crit ratio.
