>>51083160In theory DLC should be better. The base game should be good enough that some extra content on top should cap the game off with whatever else it needed. SWSH DLC would've pretty much been this to a better game, it is more of the stronger aspect. There is also no good reason they couldn't also patch some of the main game, the reason they don't is money but I said no good reason.
3rd versions though more often than not sorted out big issues the games had on top of adding a lot of new content. You could also more easily integrate this content as a natural part of the game. Or in BW2 make a new game out of the old. Plus because of the price hike the difference in price is fairly negligible. Unless you just waited for the 3rd version, then you actually saved money.
Conclusion: SWSH really should've got a price cut
