Why can't I replay any of these games. I love the catching and the battling and the adventure! But for some reason I just can't stick with them.

the only fun part of pokemon games is discovering the new pokemon and region on the first playthrough. Replaying them is boring as shit.

I also have this bulbasaur. Some kinda, talented anon some time ago did a whole bunch of gen 1 draws in a thread. I asked for Magnemite/Magneton and got bonus Bulba and Ivy because someone else asked for them! They came out really cute, I hope he saved them all, I'd love to find an archive someday.

15-20 minutes and once you're satisfied you don't have any particular reason to continue, and by the time you come back to it, it feels like someone else's save game and you want to start over instead of keeping it going.

The fun part of pokemon was the sense of adventure, of finding new species and seeing what they evolved into.
Now you know what they evolve into before playing the games, and if you manage to avoid spoilers somehow, you end up feeling conserned that a well-designed pokemon will evolve into a horribly designed pokemon, and ultimately very disappointed when it does.
