For game/Origins, I find him cool and powerful as a concept, but his character is lackluster. Silent protagonists are great when done right (eg. Claude from GTA III), but in the games his personality is nothing more than a caricature of the player; not much different than the other game protagonists aside from his official status. Even in Origins there wasn't much unique with him. I also didn't get most of those Red vs Ash comparisons (and I'm not defending Ash here because I think his character sucks and he's really more for the humor), because their universes are radically different.

Now Manga Red on the other hand, his dick is worth sucking. He's not only a legend, but he also has good writing.
