Why they are so secretive about new pokemon?

By this point in previous generations we could be able to form a team just with new pokemon.

We got a new trailer and they only show TWO new one plus one regional version.

They shifted their pre-release strategy after they spilled all the beans in Gen 7, they showed much less for SwSh and Legends before release, and they're definitely continuing that trend here. I don't mind, it leaves more to discover.
