It's a cartoon style. Just like CalArts style, Disney style, DC style, etc. Steven Universe, Family Guy, The Simpsons (where damn near everyone's yellow, mind you), SpongeBob, He-Man, Avatar (where most are Asian-adjacent), Smurfs, etc. all have different styles. The style is based on how the artist/creator draws. Cartoons are not real. They're just pictures.
