So I'm confuse. You get the crotch rocket lizards at the beginning of the game with your starter? You get a legend at the beginning? Can you use it in battle? Are they even strong? Or is it just a ride that has no use in battle?

You likely get them just as a Ridemon until later in the game where they turn into their Boxart forms and battle you. I imagine it’s part of the “treasure hunt” storyline. So yes, you “get” them early but you can’t use them in battle until later.

it's a bit like Gen 7 in that regard, you have a legendary along with you but you can't use it.
