>>51135443It's a matter of missed opportunity; of imaginations wandering, and seeing the potential for what could have been. The Pokémon brand - the aesthetic virtue of the brand - is what carries it, whether people know it or not, and to have to be subjected to the squandering of the series it for the simple matter of a "release schedule" to secure profits (for the most lucrative media franchise in history, I'll add) is just too much to bear for some people.
The possibilities are endless, and they have all the money in the world to push it further - reach higher - and yet, they constantly put it into the corner, commodify it, and drain it of all its fervor and zest: in other words, Game Freak is fucking phoning it in. There is simply no excuse for Lechonk's Tackle not making contact with Smoliv, or the environment possessing the graphical fidelity of a game from four console generations ago. They can, and should, do better for their players, but they don't, because they don't care, and you'll still buy it, anyway.
