What is the fuckin Point of these Pokemon? Where do they come in handy? You will never see a serious battle with them. At least baby Pokemon evolve, Magikarp becomes gyarados

Gimmickmons are never designed for battle, retard. Also base 70 across the board is slightly below average for a stage 2 Pokemon, it's perfectly usable in-game.

such an ability would need to go to dead weight pokemon to prevent being overpowered.
It fits thematically
It would actually be a nice buff to unown due to its shitty speed. There would be no reason not to run choice specs.

All that was there for Unown originally was that they had undefined ties to human language, living in their own dimension and possessing reality-bending powers in massive numbers.
Then HGSS cemented a connection with Arceus, implying the Unown may be a part of Arceus' divine pantheon that comprises its 1,000 arms.

The human language in Pokemon isn't the latin alphabet lmao, it even states that right away. They have their own alphabets. They called the Unowns literally "unknown" and their powers "hidden power". It doesn't imply anywhere that they didn't have this exact idea for their lore before they made Arceus.
In fact, if anything the name of their ruins and the effect of their move, as well as the lore of their power through union, implies that Arceus was made with the Unowns as base
