>>51148585>the offensive material, which keeps the game from being enjoyed and celebrated by so many peopleA good 70-80% of this game is pure nonsense unless you lurked this site in the past (I'd say between 2011 and 2017 at least), most of the content is a reference/inside joke that the general audience can't possibly understand. You'd need a dedicated wiki just for the wordplays alone.
It's like the Nameless Mod of Deus Ex, it was never meant to be enjoyed by outsiders of the forum that created it. Both just happen to be so well executed that fans of the source material can still appreciate them from a technical standpoint, but they will never truly "get it"; at best, they can hope for a very surface level understanding (which misses the point by itself).
Removing the few "racist" bits (which are all ironic references anyways, it's never played straight like you'd expect from /pol/ games such as Angry Goy) wouldn't be nearly enough to make it truly palatable to outsiders. You'd probably need to rewrite most of it, plus change some designs and names and so on to avoid hurting people's sensibilities.
If so much content needs to be changed, what's the point really? Getting praises from an extremely small minority that currently gets bothered by it? Just search on google, the hack managed to reach the corners of the internet in many languages and almost everyone seems to like it, even if very few understand it. The crude humor and offensive content is probably part of the appeal, it's perceived as irreverent which is an ever bigger selling point in a time where everyone is so observant of other people's feelings.
Most importantly, removing offensive jokes and references would deny the nature of the project itself; at its core, it's an autoironic celebration of this site, its users, its history, its customs and traditions, and all of it is mocked.
Both ironic and serious racism are part of it from its inception, why omitting it for the sake of a few outsiders?
