They replaced the protagonists with (younger? they honestly don't look like 10-year olds, more like 7-9) look-alikes + a literal nobody who usurped the Oak's family house
The problem is only confounded by trying to include those characters they replaced back into the narrative but saying that they already had their journey before you (the very same journey which transpired into the events YOU are currently living through) and they also added kid Mina from SM because Red and Blue were in SM and Rocket Executive Archer, a character who was designed to be forgettable
Worse yet is the poor attempt at referencing the female character, some people going as far as to say it's not the same character as the femMC of FRLG because "they are called differently" despite of the fact that they both take inspiration from the same character and Green's shirt is literally Leaf's shirt with the inverse colors and wears the exact same bag and does the same poses
