"Hold Items" are like new runes.
"Emblems" are like old runes.
Only one "use item" (summoner spell), so it's not always Eject Button (Flash) but that's always a safe pick. There's a Heal (Potion), AOE slow (Trundle without the pillar), generic buff for attack or for speed.
You have a total of seven skills, but only three at a time. Two are branching trees, 1 to 2A or 2B, so four combinations, and the "Unite Move" (ult).
Instead of Towers there are Scoring Rings wherein you Channel the points (aeos energy or some shit) you've picked up while farming or stolen from slain mons. While the rings have no offense, defending pokemon there get shield and heals so they're basically towers but manually operated and depending on how tanky they might just not ever die. You'll, of course, instantly vaporize when you try to defend because fuck you /ff5 you know you want to.
Epic monsters are highly decisive. Rotom = Herald, Dreadnaw = temporary Mountain Drake, Zapdos = Baron + they camp your fountain till the game ends.
Your team will always choose to farm 2 aeos energy than finish the two enemies you 100 to 10'd by yourself and then you die and lose two towers.
You know how sometimes you have literal bots in League? Here, it's by design. If you lose too many games or play at an odd hour, you'll get to play by yourself with all bots to get a feel-good freebie.
No text chat except with friends after playing a number of times. Till then, it's all pre-made comments and of course all of them are positivity. Let's start the battle! OK! Let's give it our all!
You get some champs (Licenses) after orientation, and through certain events. You'll also get temporary passes (like how League lets you waste shards) for some try before you buy. But outright unlocking means spending Coins which are slow to get so don't unlock shitmons on a whim. Use practice mode, and know if you're down with the mon's kit.
There are no minions, instead camps spawn in lane.
