>>51151687They dropped the Ho-Oh subplot after Sinnoh. Because in the episode before Ash goes to Hoenn and is still wearing his Kanto/Johto clothing he sees Ho-Oh fly above him again and realizes it is going to the Hoenn region, giving the thematic impression that Ash is supposed to keep chasing Ho-Oh and it will lead him to other places, but I think Ho-Oh doesn't appear in the anime anymore after that except in the I Choose You movie which might have been trying to actually resolve this entire thing.
