In terms of things that aren’t battle facilities, yes

RR Archie and Giovanni are probably the most challenging campaign NPC fights in any game.

it's really cheesy, but I enjoyed it. Mega Mewtwo actually kicked my ass on my first attempt.
however, my favorite moment during USUM was meeting Red and Blue.

I liked it. It showed what kind of potential Pokemon has in terms of villain storytelling, and it was nice to see a genuinely evil Giovanni that behaves more like a force of nature. Seeing that Giovanni alongside Ghetsis in Masters made him stand out even more.
