This is my findings on more on how the region lines up with real life and part of what I found seems to be more evidence for some common theories about the region at the moment. Will be multiple posts.
I found this map on twitter and I would say it’s mostly accurate but it makes one general mistake- it prioritizes location over the actual themes of the areas. Think back to how Galar was done, where due to the map’s 180 degree rotation most of the towns did not match up perfectly with any real world locations when you consider the geography and appearance and even architecture. Postwick and Wedgehurt both resemble Southern England but are far from the coast, Stonehenge in Turffield is in the wrong location, Hammerlocke appears to be based on a number of locations, Stow-on-Side seems like it belongs in another region altogether, Ballonlea looks entirely fictional, Spikemuth looks more like something from London in the 1980s, and while the location of Circhester is correct, the geography and climate are extremely off. Let’s not even go into the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra versus the Isle of Man and Scotland. Yet the region is still unquestionably Britain. The point is, that even though the shape and orientation of this region is correct this time, the biomes are completely scrambled and there’s no reason to assume that the same isn’t true of these cities.
