none of these have our right sucked a dick, but some of the older ones did have issues on the emulation front for gba games or some of the more demanding snes games.

largely, if the game runs well, go there is no real use in the other handhelds.
looking up vita, it seems that at one point in time it had problems with older consoles much less gamecube, which some of the newer portable players can do.
personally, I don't see these things viable for anything that is fully 3d just because anything like that is not respecting an on the go time frame of play and im pretty sure ds and 3ds are just not doable on the hardware, so really gba and earlier for handheld, some ps1/n64 games and earlier on consoles. I believe vita is more than able to do that today.
