I dont remember the old games being this easy, I think I reached this point in the game literally just using Infernape and Luxray.
I didn't remember how obnoxiously high the encounter with wild pokemon and random shit trainers with 6 magikarps were.
Well, my reference was red, gold, and ruby since I skipped diamond/pearl back in the day, thats partially the reason Im playing it now. So may be the original one was not this obnoxious.
I think I could have lived without playing it. But since I never played the original and I found it for 10 bucks on a pawn shop I said why not
