I simply stopped caring around gen 5, if the design is just ok I read the name once and that's it, won't even try to learn it.
I still end up most of them by osmosis but for example right now I took my a couple of seconds to remember Boldore's name and I was going to use it as an example of meh pokémon.

I honestly can't even lie the Pokemon I would have the most problems naming are all from gen 5. The are some from 7 and 8 I might struggle with too but gen 5 is a gen I've played much more extensively than those and there is just a lot of bloat and fillermon.
