The only professor that carried a full set of Pokémon was Kukui, who was the champion. They don’t just go out of their way to slap 6 poke balls on a model just for show. Theres something planned for him.

My bets on this guy personally. Just look at the fucking face, its set up to go evil at any point. I think it would be a twist of one of the professor wanting to rule the school and also take whatever the big treasure is.

The treasure is a lie. The real treasure is the pokemon you made along the way. Clavell knows this and uses the treasure hunt as an excuse for the students to grow, but the real villain doesn't and is on a goose chase for it. That's the twist.

The difference is the presentation
Lysandere was not hiding that he was the leader of Team Flare.
Team Skull were actual villains, it was just supported as an extra that Lusamine was also the mastermind cause none of her employees besides Faba know what the fuck is going on and even Faba sounds like he's jerking himself off and not part of what Lusamine is actually doing.

SWSH was a discount Gen 7, except Team Yell was hot garbage and didn't have a real purpose and Rose was even sloppier

Platinum in particular is THE third version, it fixed a ton of shit about base DP that was straight up garbage, including Team Platinum and giving Cyrus better writing.

BW2 is a sequel technically

Emerald basically gave Aqua and Magma distinct differences compared to them being copy and pastes and flipped scripts

I never understood why people thought Rose was going to be the "Obvious" villain, when nothing about him and or his reveal stood out.
If anything, I was just pissed off at the random Rose Tower Romp that is still the stupidest thing Gamefreak ever did, but nothing before that point indicated Rose as a villain, especially him deciding to disown Bede

It's less to do with his role in the game and more to do with how he was promoted.
Like, Gen 7 let the cat out of the bag months early when TPC revealed the art for M/F Aether employees in the style of villainous team grunts.
Rose was looking a lot like Lusamine in his promo material, and it didn't help his case when Team Yell evaporated after one boss fight.

I remember people focusing on Wicke, because of course they would and then when the other Ultra Beasts were revealed, people did that weird "Ultra Beasts = Humans" comparison, that shit really took center stage. I'm guessing people saw the Employee's as NPC's, which at the time was pretty normal.
That didn't stop people thinking Lusamine would be evil after the Ultra Beast Comparisons, it was just for the wrong reason.

Lysandre literally hides his involvement with Team Flare until you confront him, up until that point he's acting under the pretense of his company. Not to mention the only people with any context as to who or what the fuck Team Flare's supposed to even be are Team Flare themselves, literally nobody else in the narrative knows what a "Team Flare" is and everyone just recognizes them as the weird criminals in gaudy clothes.
