Why are they called Scarlet and Violet?
What's the thought process behind those names?
We've already done colors, and Scarlet is just Red. But then Violet isn't a different word for Blue, so it's not a throwback.
Previous gen pairs were typically contrasting concepts within the same category. Scarlet and Violet aren't contrasting or complementary, they're next to each other on a wide spectrum.
Like I would have even accepted Rose and Violet because those two flowers are often contrasted. But Scarlet and Violet? That's just nonsense.
