Consider: Game Freak (and fangames) should forget of the "regions based on real world locations" thing just once so they can go batshit insane with geography.

I mean they could still do that, its not like the "real world locations" in the game are accurate to real life anyway, such as a desert near New York City.

I hope they go full fantasy for a reboot in gen 10. This reality + fantasy is getting a bit stale, and you can tell by their choice of regions.

I love that aspect of Pokemon, the blend of the world is perfect as it is for me, fantastic and utopic but grounded enough.
I don't think I would like a generic medieval fantasy as much beyond just a spin off, which is what Pokemon Conquest was meant to be originally(a Fire Emblem crossover)

Same. It's just that Galar was a down-average region, a lot of potential wasted on straight boring lines and wallpaper cities with a Stadium in the middle.
I don't think any of the other main regions failed to scale reality with fantasy.

That's their literal full and blown freedom to do anything since it also implies multiverse and multidimensions with different outcomes.

I don't think they should fully drop a normal stable world, but regardless the regions only have a 1 representation of a real city, still as interpreted by them, and everything else is fictional.

Like, didn't you notice the giant hole in the middle of paldea with coulds in it and aj observatory hanging on its walls? That is insane geography, and the fact it's inspired by real craters in Spain only makes it better.
