>>51172517You don't understand what a shillmon is. A shillmon is a Pokemon who only gained popularity due to marketing (i.e. Pikachu, Togepi, Lucario). Charizard is seen everywhere because it gained popularity of its own accord, being the most chosen starter in the original games and thus being the first Pokemon most people ever actually had. On the other hand, Pokemon like Pikachu would have been treated no differently than Rattata or Pidgey if there wasn't a whole marketing campaign behind it - it wasn't originally a starter (and only became one due to the anime), it wasn't an easily found Pokemon originally (you could only grab it in the Viridian Forest, and it had a much lower encounter rate than the millions of caterpie and Weedle you'd normally find, meaning you probably wouldn't encounter it unless you were specifically looking for it), and it's a relatively weak electric mon that you easily outgrow fairly early on (versus Charizard and the other two starters, which remain useful for the whole game). Charizard earned it's popularity, hence why it is given lots of attention, while Pikachu and other actual shillmon are only known BECAUSE they're shilled.
