Oh the storyline you can clearly finish fast.
Since there's basically no drawback to picking a whole new team in each zone, you just do that and blitz through the game
doing so completes research tasks much faster, too
You can probably get to Volo in 30 hours or something
so OP clearly didn't mean getting to Arceus under 24h but finishing the storyline in 24h

if he had taken time to explore and enjoy the new mechanics instead of speedrunning maybe hed understand why it was so well liked. he tried to get to the end as soon as possible, how can he expect to enjoy anything that way? its like watching a movie at x2 speed and muted then saying you dont understand why people thought it was a good movie

we're, me and most people on the board, the ones that take time in the areas and shit
I filled a full fucking box in Sun/Moon before checking the Pokémon Center for the first time
speedrunning would be 10 hours, not 30

i liked crafting because i like harvesting respawnable nodes. turn based battles always seem boring to me so i cant debate you there, i think it would be cool to control my own pokemon in battle like smash or pokken.

what i liked about this game was exploration and overworld shinies. what i wish it did better was let you interact with your own pokemon, which i found weird that was not included despite all wild pokemon obviously being programmed to interact with the player. the ones you catch just fucking sit there. clothing and hair also sucked in terms of variety, there were a total of 2 combinations i liked

OP admitted to skipping all the dialog and presumably catching the highest level mon in each area rather than training his own. i didnt say he half A pressed it, but how is this not in essence a speedrun? your own post even uses the phrase "blitz through the game"

it's an open world game with tasks and side quests that are better than the main quest.
the frenzied Pokémon.
what's fun about the game is fucking around in the open world which can be surprisingly fun.
if you don't see the inherit joy and fun of going around tbagging and harassing Pokémon with balls of mud, then I don't know what to tell you.
but I do understand it's not that great of a game end of the day.
