Looks better then SWSH not much of an accomplishment but still something I didn't expect after BDSP.

The returning Pokémon pool looks great so far, the new ones not so much.

New Gimmick is boring as shit as always.

Character designs are shit.
I miss SWSH artistic direction, best thing gen 8 did hands down was the character design.

Not super impressed. To be honest region design has been my biggest gripe in the 3D era. Kalos was the beginning of the end. They haven't felt like real lived in regions with lots of cool little nooks to explore since the DS era. I want to believe it's going to have cool towns and points of interest but considering Galar and the general look of the map I don't have much faith.

Yeah, while I appreciate the higher quality models, I wish the art style still looked like SwSh's. You could have the modeled eyes and mouths with the Sugi look, and going more stylized would make the overworld look less shitty since it's not trying to be realistic

SwSh was shit but it at least looked good outside of animations and the wild area

the game may get shoved out a week early but the vortex is definitely endgame plot. all the leakers for swsh and pla took several days to get to the end of those games respectively and doled out random shit along the way to string people along. by the time the games hit actual release date they were at the end of their games and could spill everything at that point.

Considering Galar was missing alot of staples of the series region design, I'm pretty worried.

>No regional industral zone or powerplant (relegated to an out of bounds background prop on that one route)
>No haunted/abandoned area (relegated to a static prop in the wild area)
>No regional museum explaining anything about the region/history/culture (that shit in Hammerlock barely counts)
>Majority of the towns have literally nothing to do in them aside from the gym
>Cool things like the Wyndon ferris wheel are relegated to background elements when in previous games they would've been interactable.

Galar just felt like one of those North Korea propaganda cities where it's all just set dressing. I think they used to design awesome regions that felt lived in and now they're mainly just concerned with it merely *looking* like something cool.

The vortex is a way not to design the center of the area. The area got big and instead of creating the content they just covered the area with the same clouds they use for outer margins of the maps. Ez pz lemon squeezy.

Exactly right. Galar was such a rushed shit show of a region. All reused assets from Sun and Moon too.

Tapped out after gen 7. So when gen 9 was announced, I had no intention of buying it.

But then I saw that the legendries can be used to glide, swim, ride and that it's gonna be open with the gym order...I'm a little interested. I'll still wait to see reception, but I'm interested.

World feels barren. Most new character designs are gay or bland. Crystal hat gimmick is retarded, even worst than just "gettng bigger". Pokemon designs are mostly fine except the motorcycle legendaries which is completely fucking stupid. Gameplay seems intriguing but they'll probably fuck it up.

I like the region design a lot.
While level design looks to be as comically shit as Gen 7/8, the region has what's equivalent to 20 routes.
With some places being pretty clearly optional, I think I'm not reaching too far by saying this is the biggest region since Kalos, or potentially ever.
There doesn't seem to be any postgame area, though top-right looks like it leads somewhere.
