Because you're already off-grid unless you bump into a corner first. It's effective to realign with the grid, but most people won't think of it.
Though from my own DP experience thuds were pretty commonplace especially on the bike, so maybe it's not all that.

No they're not, not even close. Did you quote the right post? I was asking that anon what the point of the image he posted was. I think he wanted to make a point using sales data for the games but maybe he forgot to write the post, leaving his image with no context.
