>>51222062Which is what the Game Boy was, yes. Remember, Nintendo make this shit primarily for Japan, so selling Kenji on a toy that looks like Daddy's electronic filofax was the way to go, they were always ahead of the curve (Pokémon had connectivity to Japan's mobile internet, remember).
>>51222181Some anon posted a gif of a two or three year old child with a game boy, pressing the screen to make the system work, as they never interacted with a unit that had buttons to press to affect the action on-screen. Odd choice of words, but utterly apt a description, as they clearly would be ignorant of this kind of thing, given a phone is something they'd have readily be handed (part of all kids' development is picking up and manipulating a thing that catches their attention, from mammy's rings and jewellery to mobile phones and remotes and all things in between, depending on how curious the kid is) and most people in the world today can figger a smartphone out to at least facebook and ring someone on.
Hell, my toy telephone was a copy of the bakelite standard-issue rotary model, my 8 year old cousin's toy telephone was a kiddy iPhone clone - unless kids are being fed this shit by their parents and eductaed about these things, they won't know and if they don't know, best just to spell it out for them to make it easier for them.
