This, and I'd even say it applies to almost all protagonists regardless of genre. The main character is inherently special because you're controlling them. They're as determined as the player is, which essentially makes them an adventuring machine. In Pokemon the player's sole purpose is to catch Pokemon, win battles, and become stronger than everyone else. In-universe this is implied to be extremely difficult, but from the player's perspective it's literally the only thing you can do. You'd have to actively try NOT to get stronger. It's like if you spent your entire life trying not to accomplish anything but still managed to be incredibly successful.

No, because that's how most heroic tales work.
The story will follow the APEX, the most important character of the world because he is the one who will have the most impact and bring change.
We're not following literally who Bug Catcher who is bottlenecked by his own abilities so hard that he can't progress and train his pokemon further than lvl 8.

But you do have a point that it's laughable that every NPC are so supportive for no reason.

All of those, except for the protagonist of Gold/Silver, might as well be fan-made characters. Pretty sure that "chosen child saves the world" wasn't what Satoshi Tajiri wanted out of Pokémon.

It doesn't matter if future MC do "more" because the new games are simply following the rule of upscaling. Escalating the legendary's powerlevel and apocalyptical threats.
We're already in the end game of fiction now, with multiverse and time travel content

I would argue it's significantly worse in Pokemon. The gratification itself is not an issue, but the way it's earned. The games are mostly a cakewalk for anyone over the age of 14. If I get through the first four gyms without blacking out and with minimal effort, it's absurd every npc is sucking my dick. I don't feel like I earned the respect and gratification and therefore it becomes a nuisance. If I'm going to be treated like a literal god, then the game play should be cock and ball torture level of difficulty.

You have to remember that the target audience is elementary schoolers, who will do dumb shit like teach Cut to their overleveled starter, have 3 attacks of the same type on one pokemon, and spend all their money on premier balls.
It actually is a challenge for children, especially ones who've never played a Pokemon game before.

What is this supposed to justify? TPC should be self aware enough to know all the children that played gen 1-5 are adults now, and the fanbase is evened across all ages. It's not that hard to add auto-scaling as an option or even just difficulty settings. This is not complicated.
