But aesthetically, megas are the clear winner for exactly the reasons the brainlet thinks: it's cool that one of your mans can go super saiyan. On top of this, it takes an existing, core aspect of the franchise, evolution, and lets you "go even further beyond!!!" It was slightly jarring at first, but it feels far more natural than any of the subsequent gimmicks, and I think this is why people generally gravitate to it over all the dumb shit we've seen since.
On the other hand, dynamaxing is a fucking aesthetic nightmare. Absolutely retarded-looking gimmick, feels completely out of place and disposable. "What if your pokemon was big?" is what a toddler would think of as a follow-up to mega-evolution.
Obviously the best solution is just to continue with megas, but rework the mechanics so they function more like dynamaxes. Best of all worlds.
