Never let anyone tell you Gamefreak didn't at one point have soul. Just two guys making their own fazine, drawing their own art and stapling the pages together with their own hands, later moving on to hacking a Famicom to reverse engineer a developer's kit and making their own games from an apartment room. It's really fucking beautiful, they did care about the art of game making at one point, Pokemon was passion project.

I wonder if any of them are even available for sale anymore and could be scanned by some gaijin.
Someone on /vr/ managed to buy that rare early pokedex book, and that brought enough attention for dykg to buy one themselves and translate it first. The fact that the pokemon fandom is one of the ones most autistic enough to break into official buildings and take 20yo alphas makes it surprising the fanzines are still mysterious

They began development on Gen 2 right after Gen 1, without knowing if it would be successful. Pokemon didn't become business as usual until Gen 3.

No, dr Lava brought it up a few years ago and the dykg videos were announced before the /vr/ thread.
The scans did come out first.
