Most people see HGSS as the best pokemon games so if you start giving all the good things they have to other games it will dilute the bullet points

No, the most recent disassembly is for gen 3 games. It's hard enough to add stuff like the fairy type, coding an entire new system into the game is out of the question without a disassembly of the code.

There isn't, and its more upsetting because the theme of the game just provides even more reason that shouldn't be the case. Those moments where N comes up to you and "talks" to your pokemon with nothing on screen was just stupid. The games themselves were fine but the lack of following pokemon especially with that theming like I said brought the experience down for me.

Not in BW because both BW and HGSS were developed around the same time, not enough time to port it to BW. No excuse for it to not be in B2W2 though

There's no real reason it couldn't be done but it was lame in HGSS that the pokemon had no idle stance and nowadays there's bigger problems to worry about. Also HGSS didn't fix the balancing so who cares about some sprite following you? If you can't roleplay this part of the experience and need a visual key telling you your poke is following you shouldn't you fix yourself first?

there's no secret scientific formula to it. the pre-BW 493 monster sprites were reused from HGSS, and they simply did not want to develop overworld sprites for the new 156. if you remember, those sprites were only used for the entralink, because they were out of place in the BW overworld style

Currently the "definitive version" of platinum is renegade platinum + following pokemon patch (you can find a patch that does both if you google). The latest I saw was somebody adding gen 5 graphics to plat on top of following renplat.

One of two reasons
1: Gen 5 was already pushing DS hardware and it may have been a conscious resource saving decision
2: It was considered one of HGSS's gimmicks and porting it was never even considered

Gen 5 runs on a completely new engine too, so that could have something to do with it.

Can't say that about BW2, these games are GF's masterpiece.

Because following Pokemon does not meaningfully impact gameplay and the implementation in HGSS was total trash. The following mon doesn't even have a sprite for standing still, it's just constantly running in place.
