>>51253600Pikachu is a perfect design for a mascot. The colors and the amount of detail make it ridiculously easy to both be iconic and easily represented by even simple elements. While I Raichu is my favorite, I wouldn't say it has a better design than Pikachu. What I will say is that it's the perfect design for a Pikachu evolution,. While most of the iconic attributes don't stand out as notably as Pikachu, it still does a good job of expanding on them while still maintaining everything that makes them appealing in the first place.
It's a bummer that Raichu gets overshadowed by its prevo being the mascot, but I think it's also impressive in its own right that a pokemon as widely beloved as Pikachu can have an evolution that most people still have a high opinion of. It's not easy to follow up a design like Pikachu.
