If someone's goal is to win they aren't going to use your bro Bidoof, they are going to grab whatever the busted thing is in the format. And I say this as someone who doesn't give two shits about competitive play in any game because it's inherently boring seeing as there's no way to do it without a tier based meta existing outside of just taking away ALL choice from the player, and at that point you may as well just go play fucking Poker since it'll be just as fun.
