>>51268670First time being on /vp/ for a new Gen? Happens all the time. When you have a company that love to do the whole "one step forward, two steps back" thing, it's only natural people will look to their older games in envy, though in SV's case it's actually pretty understandable.
Pokemon, by nature of it's design philosophy, doesn't do well in realistic/semi-realistic settings without suitable stylization. Their nature as anime-esque creatures mean they suit an anime aesthetic. Games like the ones on the 3DS, Let's Go or SwSh with cel-shading, anime humans and in Let's Go and earlier games' case a stylized world it all looks good because it's consistent.
In SV's case it has anime-esque Pokemon with realistic textures in a realistic world populated by stylized, albeit less anime looking humans. Coupled with ridiculously desaturated colour palette and it just looks gross. SwSh were by no means crown jewel achievements in graphics, hell, Let's Go look better because of the consistent visuals, but at the very least, SwSh looks better because it's more cohesive. Even if the world still looks shite, my fucking god Game Freak's texture work will never be good will it?
