They were already good games,. The leader teams were objectively bad because they fucked over Gen2 Pokémon, but the games overall were still good.

bored so here's my shitty take, tried to stay relatively faithful

Ehh, would have felt like a copy/paste job of RBY. and Silver hadn't really learned his lesson by that point. Maybe Champion during rematches, in a similar vein to how you beat N at the B/W League, then come back to fight Alder.

Rematches would have been perfect for GSC. They would be an excellent source or money or even other rewards like TMs. I wonder if that was the intention but they couldn't fit it and had to save them for the remakes.
Would have been nice to fit in Stantler somewhere in Morty's team but its fine the way it is now.
I would have liked Falkner's team if if was only birds, but Morty already has Noctowl and having three normal flying types is bland, so Gligar is nice. .
Not really a fan of Ampharos and Lapras being on two team so close together but they're good. fit those teams. (Though technically Jasmine shouldn't really have Amphy since its supposed to be at the lighthouse/Though I supposed you could make it so that you could only rebattle her during the day.
Also I don't think Charizard belongs with Clair, not because its CHARIZARD, but because Clair theme seems to be Blue or Serpentine Pokemon, while Lance is the one uses Pokémon that look like Western Dragons. I'd probably do with Nidoqueen instead but its not like CHARIZARD runs the team.

Overall excellent team, you worked well the limited pools of mons early gens had. You gave Gen2 Pokemon due representation but didn't treat Gen1 mon like some of plague.

Johto Team threads tend to attract alot of shitposts r NO GEN1 POKEMON EVUR or GEN2 MONS SUCK, JOHTO IZ JUST DLC FOR KANTOOOOO. I appreciate your constructive post.

My thought in this 'revised' version of GSC is that Silver's penultimate fight where he begins to warm up is right before you walk into Blackthorn Gym, with the fight before that occurring during the Rocket segment in Mahogany.
I just wish there was a better 'candidate' for champion than Lance, Blue, or Silver. Having it be version exclusive between Lance/Clair is pretty neat

Since you mentioned a revision of the games, that gives you a lot more creative freedom. It really depends what you're going for. Do you want to:
Subvert expectations?
>Have Kris/Lyra appear way more often, kind of like a May character, and have her be the hidden Champion
>Go for a similar thing to what Black and White did, by makimg Team Rocket not just scream "GiOvAnNi NoTiCe Us!!!" into the void as the climax of their plot. Build up slowly to an expected, but incredibly awesome final showdown?
