Every other monster collecting anime is better. Pokemon easily has the superior games among them all, but compared to the likes of beyblade, medabots, yu-gi-oh, bakugon, monster rancher and especially digimon, the pokemon anime is incredibly sanitized and childish.

There is literally only one aspect of the pokemon anime that is consistently better than all the other examples and its the animation. Everything regarding themes, characterization, and lessons taught to the target audience is inferior in pokemon.


It's funny that all of the other shows are considered "dark for kids shows" while in the whole grouping of mons collecting/battle shows, thats the standard, pokemon is the cuddly childish one of the bunch
Maybe one day we'll get a pokemon anime that is actually good and not just a videogame commercial.
Pokemon has its "dark" episodes but they barely scratch the surface of everything these other shows do.


It is telling that a romance arc in the pokemon anime climaxes at one offscreen kiss, followed by the franchise thoroughly refusing to observe the subject any further. Pathetic
